The Cheney house is a very historic home. Being built in 1913, it has many historical memories. It's original owner, Arthur C. Cheney, was a business man. He owned the A.C. Cheney Piano Action Company from 1911 to 1928. The current owner is Joseph Scandurra. Here is a list of all the owners ever to own this house: First was Arthur C. Cheney from 1913 until 1928. Second, was Dr. Thomas Parran Jr. Third were the Shaw's and fourth were the Lendy's. As said before, the current owner is Joseph Scandurra. We went inside the home and took many pictures and got a tour of the home. It has a beautiful interior and a beautiful exterior.
The house was originally built in 1912, according to current owner, Joseph Scandurra. There was an addition built in 1920. The addition is visible inside and also on the outside. The Scandurras moved into the home in 1992. Their two oldest daughters were already in college, but the youngest was in high school. She has seen the ghost of a past owner appear in her room. The Scandurra's still live there. They live a happy life and keep their home in good shape!
On the 28th of April, Andrew and Elaina went to visit Joseph Scandurra at the Cheney House, and we saw the fancy living room, the study, kitchen, huge patio, and the dining room. We saw the place where the waiter passed the food to the dining room for Mr. Cheney, and we saw old books that Mr. Scandurra found in the wall. We also found out that there was a pool, ice house, and a apple orchard. All of the things we learned from this project opened our eyes to the rich history of the Cheney House.
We learned a lot of information about the Cheney House, but there is so much more to explore in the future, this is only the beginning!

This is the study, or library that people would read books and study tests.
This is were the waiters would be cooking the food for their master at dinner. They would pass the food and plates to them by passing the food through a little square entrance in the wall called, "the butler's pantry", and would cook the food on the counters on the other side.
This the kitchen/living room for lounging and for eating.
This is the back patio, it is one of the newly add-ons for the house.
Here is the old staircase that leads up to the master bedrooms and attic.
This the grand bedroom , this is the place were one of Mr. Scandurra's daughters slept and saw the ghost of the owner before, Ms. Louis Nelson. Or Mrs. Louis Lendy. We are unsure.
